I know it’s really easy to grab a packet of salted Corn Chips off the supermarket shelf, and I’d be a big fat liar if I said I never do it myself. But when you’re making a delectable dip from scratch, why not go the extra mile and make your own delicious Tortilla Chips to go with it?
Everyone will be SUPER impressed, and they never have to know how easy it was.
PLUS there’s the added benefit of them being healthier because they’re not fried, which is particularly helpful should you serve it with my calorific cheesefest A.K.A. Chili Con Queso
12 White Corn Tortillas
Olive Oil Spray
Sea Salt Flakes
- Preheat your oven to 200°c
- Slice the tortillas into 6 even triangles and lay on a baking tray in a single layer. Spray with Olive Oil, season with salt flakes and then bake for around 15 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy. Toss the chips halfway through cooking.
- Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool. Sprinkle a little more salt on if the fancy takes you and enjoy!!
- *** TIP: Be Careful not to overcook the chips, if they get too brown they will taste burnt and acrid.
- *** TIP: You can also make these chips with flour tortillas.
